Privacy Policy

This notice separates what happens on this website from how the EasyChat AI Windows app processes data.

Last updated: September 9, 2026

Who is responsible

WunderApps GmbH, Rheinsberger Str. 76–77, c/o Factory Works GmbH, 10115 Berlin, Germany, is responsible for the processing described here. Privacy questions and data requests can be sent to support@easychat-ai.app.

This website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. When you visit it, technical request data such as your IP address, time of access, requested URL, browser information, and security or error data may be processed in hosting logs so the site can be delivered and protected.

We do not use website analytics, advertising trackers, a contact form, or non-essential cookies. If you use an email link, your email provider and ours process the message outside this website.

Standard chats in the Windows app

When you use EasyChat AI without your own API key, your prompt and the conversation context needed for the response pass through the EasyChat service to the OpenAI API. EasyChat does not permanently store that message content on its server.

For details about API data handling, see OpenAI’s API data controls. OpenAI also publishes a European privacy policy.

EasyChat stores a Microsoft Store-derived user identifier together with the number of messages and tokens used. These values are used to operate allowances, entitlements, and fair-use limits. Because the same identifier can be recognized over time, we do not describe it as anonymous.

Bring your own API key

If you enable BYOK, chat requests go directly from the app to OpenAI instead of through the EasyChat service. OpenAI processes API requests under its own terms and API data controls, which can vary by endpoint and account configuration.

Telemetry and crash diagnostics

The Windows app includes Visual Studio App Center and Sentry integrations for telemetry, crash reporting, and diagnostics. Depending on the event and SDK configuration, those services may process app and operating-system versions, device or installation information, feature-use events, timestamps, error traces, diagnostic context, and network metadata such as an IP address.

This processing helps us understand reliability, diagnose faults, and maintain the app. When an integration transmits an event, Microsoft or Sentry processes that diagnostic data under its respective privacy terms. More information is available in the provider notices linked below.

More information: Microsoft App Center and Sentry privacy.

Legal bases and retention

Data needed to provide the app and requested chat service is processed to perform the user relationship. Security, diagnostics, service operation, and fraud or abuse prevention are based on our legitimate interests in providing a safe and reliable product, where applicable law permits.

There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for the Store-derived identifier and message/token counters. You can contact us to request deletion, subject to applicable rights and legal requirements. Hosting and diagnostics providers retain their data according to the configured service settings and legal requirements.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may also complain to a competent data protection authority. Contact us at support@easychat-ai.app so we can respond to your request.

Do not send an API key with a privacy request. Requests concerning data held directly by OpenAI, Microsoft, Sentry, Cloudflare, or your email provider may also need to be directed to that provider.

Changes

We may update this notice when the app, website, or service providers change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
